Monday night’s rally drew Black demonstrators looking to protest the Democratic party over its policies concerning immigration, a issue that many protesters say has negatively affected the Black community.

Jameis Williams who lives on the west side of the city thinks that the Democrats have prioritized immigrants over Americans.

“When you look at how much money, public assistance, and jobs that the dems have given or guaranteed for illegals, it shocks you because you would figure they would want to help Americans like us (Black voters) since we always come out to support them, but I guess not.” he lamented.

Williams is just one of many. When other demonstrators realized that our correspondent was a reporter, dozens of protesters came to speak to us specifically because they felt that white media outlets were either ignoring young Black voters opinions or outright lying about what they really thought about Kamala Harris’s election bid.

A young activist named Kayla Johnson said that she only showed up to let other Black voters know why they shouldn’t vote for Kamala and the Democratic party in November.

“She covered up the murder of a Black woman, she targeted Black women for bogus prosecutions, she insist that she will never do anything for Black people, and then she has the nerve to ask for our vote?” she insisted. “If we vote for Kamala and the dems what’s to stop them from letting in a 100 million more illegals? What about all of the innocent people that she (Kamala Harris) wrongfully locked up? Are we just going to ignore that too?”

Another protester, Dave Hendler, said that he was coming to confront his ‘allies’ and ask why they had suddenly turned tail on important issues like the “genocide” in Palestine and defunding the police.

“What happened? Its like night and day. A few months ago the entire left was united around stopping this genocide in Gaza, or at least stopping the police from committing state sanction violence against citizens. But now just a month later everyone who wasn’t going to vote for ‘genocide Joe’ or ‘Copmalla’ are now getting swept up by the media hype surrounding her. Its actually kind of sickening, that the left is really no better than the right. That everyone here wants to win even if it means that we’re not going to change anything.” he finished.

A young politician named Jaymal Green confronted youtuber Roland Martin who is a staunch supporter of the Democratic party at a church event across the street from the convention. Green got in the face of Martin who had recently called him an ‘idiot’ among other names on social media.

“When I saw him face to face he didn’t want any of it.” Green said, “He backed down immediately and hid behind an elderly Black woman who threatened to call security on me.”

Green also says that he is a avid watcher of Black owned media entities.

“We love what yall do out here, its a great time to be Black.” he said.

While the first 2 days of the convention was largely uneventful, things got violent when on Wednesday a mob of Palestinian sympathizers clashed with local law enforcement injuring 6 Chicago PD officers in the process.

“The Democratic party will not stop shipping weapons to the apartheid government in Isreael.” said Abi Rahmed, a Palestinian activist from Flint who’s lost one cousin and a niece in the Gaza conflict had come down to protest with his entire family.

“It doesn’t matter what kind of nice rhetoric they give, if they’re not willing to stop the bloodshed then we’re not willing to vote for them.” he stated.

When asked what Palestinian activist want to see the Democratic party do in regards to Gaza, Abi insist that the Kamala Harris and the party need to immediately call for an embargo.

“We want Kamala and the Democratic party to sign a weapons embargo since her and Biden are already in office now, we want Kamala to not just denounce killing in general but denounce Netanyahu, and we want there to be additional sanctions placed on Israel that reflect the core principals of the BDS (boycott, divest, sanction) movement.” he yelled.

“If the Democratic party isn’t willing to support the embargo against Israel we will not support them.”

In response to the Palestinian protesters the DNC held a panel led by Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison who is also a practicing Muslim. The DNC has not publicly responded to any grievances poised by Black protesters at the event and has made no promise to hold any type of panel on reparations or on a moratorium on immigration.
