Trevor Moses is a young Black American that’s currently being charged for a 2nd degree manslaughter in Shreveport, Louisiana. Moses and his friends got into a brawl with another group of young men, one of which he fought.

Moses was struck by Chris Temple, a young white male. Racial epithets were thrown at Mr. Moses according to witnesses and several CCTV cameras caught the beginning of the altercation, proving Mr. Moses didn’t even start the fight.

This isn’t mutual combat, this is a clear case of self defense and is not sufficient to prove battery let alone manslaughter. Preponderance of force is a different question since Mr. Moses didn’t initiate the confrontation.

What we do know is that Chris Temple threw the first punch, he also hurled epithets. Mr. Moses defended himself, possibly in the face of unlawful actions being taken against him at that moment.

The assailant, Chris Temple later died from his resulting injuries.

District Attorney James E. Stewart was wrong to bring charges on this young man, and let it be known that the only reason he is attempting to charge this child is to prove to his white supremacist cohorts that he wants to keep his job.

DA Stewart must drop these unlawful charges, or risk losing his position and license to practice.

B1Daily is calling on all Black attorneys in Louisiana to contact the Shreveport Bar Association and tell them about the malicious proprietorial misconduct that DA Stewart is engaging in.

We can’t go in on the white supremacist who abuse their offices until we make sure that walking disgraces like old DA Stewart, Alvin Bragg, Leticia James, and any other sellouts looking to overcharge Black people while simultaneously letting white offenders off of the hook.

This old fool should be ashamed of himself. People in the Shreveport area say that DA Stewart can be seen riding in his fancy luxury car in the area, but is never seen at any time of community event. And for this treacherous weasel to make his money by selling the rest of us out and making those of us in the legal field look like sellouts by association is beyond reprehensible.

DA Stewart’s election is in 2026, so there is a opportunity to remove him from office, but the grassroots shouldn’t have to wait till then.

Once DA Stewart drops these salacious charges that he brought on this young man, he should step down for the betterment of the community.
