A recent B1daily poll confirmed that a majority of Black voters did not attend the April 5th “Hands off” protest or the previous week’s “Tesla Takedown” protest.

The new poll conducted by the Learning Institute LLC confirmed that out of 2200 Black registered voters, only 16% or roughly 350 participated in the recent protest against President Trumps new policies.

A full 59% of Black voters said that they they didn’t participate in the recent protests. When asked if they thought the protest was either “overblown” or without proper reasoning, 58% percent responded with a affirmation of one of the two choices. While 20% percent said that they “supported” or “strongly supported” Trumps recent cuts.
3% responded as as undecided.
Tameka Edwards, a preschool teacher from Ann Harbor, Michigan said that she didn’t feel that voters on the left really supported Black issues, so she chose to stay home.

“To me, we already did all that we could, and that was with the Democratic party saying no to reparations. I don’t feel that these people care anything about Black people. They care about staying in office.” She stated.
Black American voters voted for Democrats at nearly 87% yet received no promises or guarantees for Freedmen reparations, a flagship issue in the Black community.
“I don’t understand man. If they really wanted to win, why not just start the reparations process for Black American Freedman?” wrote James Turner, who works as a crane operator California.

Jackie Wallace, a data security analyst was more blunt in her objections to the protest.
“The brothas are right on this one. We’ve done enough, we’re resting.”
The sentiment in the Black community appears to be one of predictable dejection and loathing.
Will the Democrats or Republicans find a way to reengage Black voters?
