Lets be clear, all of the fake outrage against actress and social media influencer Keke Palmer is petty.

Jealous hearted individuals love to throw shade at sistas who are beautiful, or inspirational, or better that the haters. Yikes.

Jonathan Majors & Meagan Good

This time, lonely individuals from the corners of the Shade Room and the Root magazine are platforming haters of Keke because she and other independent thinking women like Sherri were willing to extend a helping hand to a young man who just made Meagan Good a wife (again) and has potentially revitalized her career.

Meagan is beaming and hasn’t looked this happy in a long time. So for people to come for her man when they’re in their honeymoon phase and trying to focus on their own careers is just beyond petty.

So much of the outrage is from tethers and white so called activist that don’t want to see this Jonathan or Keke succeed because they’re young Black talents.

Keke Palmer has represented Black women well since she was a child! We all loved her in Aquila and the Bee and she’s only continued to improve as her catalog grew despite her clearly being discriminated against in the film industry.

Keke Palmer protest with Black community, 2020

Keke isn’t liked by white studios because she’s outspoken, professional, comes from a good family, and refuses to let weirdos take advantage of her.

For her to be a Black woman that is clearly Black and not racially ambiguous like Ice Spice or Zendaya, and have so much success (most of which she had to lobby for herself) at such a young age makes all Black women proud. Even if we might have a problem with her past choices of men (who won’t step up and marry her) or her comedic pregnancy bit on SNL, regardless Keke is one of us and she deserves just as much support as she always given the community.

And that’s a ton!

The Keke Palmer podcast episode of her interviewing Jonathan Majors should be aired.

On top white actors do way worse and they face little to no consequences. We should be rooting for young Black talents like Keke and Meagan and we should hope that Black studios will keep them working consistently so they can make more films and TV shows that we can enjoy.
