Breonna Taylor continues to be denied justice. The Trump administration sent dirty federal lawyers to advocate for no jail time against one of the scumbags responsible for her murder. Former officer Brett Hankinson was only given a minimal 2 years.

Indie Comics Writer Shawn James Suffers Heart Attack

Novelist and indie comics writer, Shawn James suffered a heart attack earlier this month. Check out his video below for details on his recovery. Shawn James’ forward-thinking commentary was what inspired many of our writers here to start putting out commentary themselves. His books and graphic novels are beloved by the grassroots, and he is a pillar of strength in the grassroots movement.

Fantastic Flop?

Man, did Marvel’s new Fantastic Four suck bad. The movie centered around the birth of Franklin Richards, Sue and Reid Richards super-powered son. The problem is although the movie is shot well, over half of the film is the relationship drama between Sue and Richard.

There is little action in the newest Fantastic Four, in fact the 2005 versions stay far more true to the comic characters.

Plus Marvel has this freaking obsession with Aryanism. Almost all of the main cast is blonde, white and blue eyed (except for Pedro Pascal) with the only characters of color being the supporting cast. No wonder the white guys love this piece of hot garbage so much.

This was the very definition of a boring mid-super hero movie. Save your money folks.

Superman is a Fun Ride

Gunn is the guy. He is the next head of DC, he proved it with this film.

While juggling an introduction of 5 heroes plus multiple villains (at least one will be reoccuring), Gunn doesn’t miss a step with pursuing small character arcs in between heart pounding action. While the movie suffers from scene cuts from the studio, it carries a story well enough to keep an audience engaged.

Gunn’s DC universe feels similar to his take on Suicide Squad. Very campy, fun, and comic-like. A contrast to Snyder’s hyper-realistic take on heroes.

Maybe DC will finally take fans seriously and let Gunn and Snyder work together for Apokolips War or something of that caliber.

Gunn is the definition of an ally to the Black community. For years going back to his 2006 production ‘Slither’, Gunn has sought out Black production talent, put Black actors in prominent roles, and written them as proudly as we see ourselves.

Gunn, like Snyder, should be given a round of applause for his commitment to equality and merit.

Now back to the “Goddamn terrific” reviews.
