A man named Shane Tamura drove from Nevada to Midtown Manhattan with an assault rifle. He appeared to be targeting the NFL headquarters and had a note claiming he suffered from CTE. Tamura would open fire in Midtown, going up an office building, killing four people and wounding a fifth.
Tamura appeared to be aiming for the executive suite of the NFL headquarters however he took the elevator that led to Rudin Management. In total 4 people were killed, a security guard for the building; an executive at Blackstone, a police officer, and a young employee at Rudin Management.
CCTV street surveillance footage captured him allowing a woman to walk out of the elevator, sparing her from being shot, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said.
A 26-year-old named Dakota Hawver shot into a Reno Casino today. He shot and killed 3 people while wounding 6 others. Witnesses say he fired around 80 rounds from a 9mm handgun.
At 7:30 AM Monday near the valet area of the Grand Sierra Resort Dakota Hawver walked onto the parking lot of the resort from the north part of the property and made his way to the valet area. Once there, he aimed his pistol at a group of people, but it malfunctioned.
Hawver was able to get the gun working and fired multiple times, hitting five people. Two died as a result. The two deceased were identified as Justin Aguilar and Andrew Canepa.
Hawver took off through the parking lot attempting to escape, a GSR security officer spotted him and that’s when Hawver opened fire. The security officer fired back. Hawver took off again through the parking lot and then fatally shot 66-year-old Angel Martinez who was driving away.
Reno police found Hawver and a shootout happened. Multiple Reno officers fired their weapons, hitting him. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
