The Pennsylvanian Department of Corrections who has deliberately and willfully withheld life-saving treatment to Black political prisoners like Mumia Abu-Jamal in order to aid the state in his attempted demise must be held accountable and most importantly sued.

The famed activist and international journalist has been fighting with the help of the grassroots for eye surgery to remedy his rapidly decaying sight.

Knowing that this elderly political prisoner was in need of life-saving surgery, and still denying him that for over 9 months is illegal and the Pennsylvanian Department of Corrections is liable not only for the medical risks Mr. Jamal now has to deal with as a result of the facility’s negligent actions, but also the psychological and human suffering intended to be inflicted upon this political prisoner must be taken into question when considering a potential pardon or expungement of his questionable sentencing.

Mr. Abu-Jamal took the time to thank protestors who worked on his behalf over the last year.

“My dear beloved friends and supporters: my message to you all is really quite simple — thank you!

Your brave and noble work on the protest line outside has already born good fruit in getting me treatment after eight months of darkness.

I salute you all and thank you all again!

Remember the battle ain’t over. Please keep on keepin’ on, OK? Because the struggle ain’t over y’all.

With love, not phear,” wrote Jumia Abu-Jamal.
