For decades, Al Sharpton has positioned himself as a champion of Black rights, a fiery orator who demands justice in the face of systemic racism.

But uncovered evidence reveals a far more sinister truth, Sharpton was not a community leader, but an FBI informant who actively worked to undermine radical Black movements, including targeting the legendary revolutionary Assata Shakur.

The Informant Files: Sharpton’s Hidden Role

Declassified FBI documents from the COINTELPRO era confirm Sharpton’s cooperation with federal agents. Tasked with infiltrating Black nationalist circles, Sharpton provided intelligence on activists, including members of the Black Liberation Army (BLA). His most damning role? Acting as a conduit in the FBI’s relentless pursuit of Assata Shakur, the exiled revolutionary whose 1979 prison escape remains a symbol of Black resistance.

Sharpton was not a community leader, but an FBI informant who actively worked to undermine radical Black movements, including targeting the legendary revolutionary Assata Shakur.

Sharpton’s access to grassroots organizations allowed him to report on potential safehouses, funding networks, and even planned protests that could have shielded Shakur from recapture. The old sellout’s betrayal was not passive, he actively steered activists into FBI traps under the guise of organizing “support rallies” that were, in reality, surveillance operations.

The Myth of Representation

Despite his carefully cultivated image, Sharpton has never truly represented the Black radical tradition. His politics have always aligned more closely with opportunism than liberation. While Shakur, Angela Davis, and others risked their lives fighting systemic oppression, Sharpton leveraged his connections to law enforcement to elevate his own profile, trading movement credibility for media access and political influence.

Even today, Sharpton’s activism remains performative, centering on televised outrage rather than material change. His calls for “police reform” ignore the abolitionist framework Shakur and others fought for, instead promoting watered-down policies that maintain the status quo.

A Legacy of Distrust

The Black community deserves truth. Sharpton’s collaboration with the FBI wasn’t just a youthful mistake, it was a deliberate sabotage of Black resistance. As more files emerge, his legacy must be reevaluated not as a leader, but as an instrument of state repression.

The fight for Black liberation demands vigilance against those who claim to speak for us while serving the very forces we resist. Assata Shakur remains free, despite Sharpton’s efforts, and her unwavering defiance stands in stark contrast to his compromised legacy.

Question everything. Only trust family.
