The Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) was once a proud institution, fighting for fair wages, classroom resources, and the dignity of educators. But under the leadership of the so-called “City Girls”, a clique of politically obsessed, Democrat-aligned bureaucrats, it has devolved into a self-serving machine that prioritizes performative activism over real change.

This year alone, CTU poured over $2 million into elections, almost exclusively backing Democratic candidates while Chicago’s public schools crumble. Classrooms lack basic supplies, roofs leak, and students, overwhelmingly Black children, are left behind. Yet CTU’s leadership is more concerned with virtue signaling than fixing the system they claim to champion.

Worse, the Chicago school board, egged on by CTU’s political spending, has become obsessed with the plight of illegal immigrant children while ignoring Black families who make up the majority of the district. Resources are diverted to temporary shelters and bilingual programs while Black-majority schools suffer from chronic neglect. It’s a slap in the face to generations of Chicagoans who built this city and fought for equitable education.

The “City Girls” aren’t fighters, they’re political operatives in union clothing. They’d rather siphon dues into Democratic campaigns than demand accountability from City Hall. Meanwhile, Black parents are left asking: Who’s fighting for our kids?

Enough is enough. Chicago’s teachers, and its children, deserve better.
