Fans of supernatural manga have another series worth watching: Ghost Fixers, the latest work from Summer Time Rendering creator Yasuki Tanaka.

Set in the futuristic Mikurigaoka New Town, the story takes place after a mysterious event transforms the area into a hotspot for bizarre supernatural phenomena known as GHOSTS. Middle schooler Hifumi Kagome becomes involved in “correcting” these supernatural abnormalities alongside newcomer Moka Kirarazaka, turning the series into a colorful collision of science fiction, mystery and supernatural action.

Tanaka serves as both writer and artist, giving Ghost Fixers the same single-creator authorship behind Summer Time Rendering. The manga began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ on March 22, 2024, with Shueisha publishing its collected volumes under the Jump Comics+ imprint. International readers can officially follow the English release through MANGA Plus by Shueisha.

The series is already attracting attention beyond Tanaka’s established fanbase. Ghost Fixers placed 10th in the web manga category of the 2025 Next Manga Awards, giving the relatively young series another feather in its increasingly crowded supernatural cap.

There is currently no anime studio attached to a Ghost Fixers adaptation, so reports claiming an animation studio is already involved should be treated cautiously. The production names officially associated with the manga itself are Yasuki Tanaka, Shueisha, Shonen Jump+ and MANGA Plus. Tanaka’s previous Summer Time Rendering did receive an anime adaptation produced by OLM, but that studio connection should not be confused with Ghost Fixers.

With its reality-warping threats, striking character designs and a creator already experienced in constructing elaborate supernatural mysteries, Ghost Fixers has the ingredients to become one of Shonen Jump+’s more interesting genre titles.

And if it eventually receives an anime adaptation, don’t be surprised if considerably more eyes suddenly discover what Tanaka has been cooking.
